VERY LOW WATER ZONE
This zone provides the greatest savings. You have to do irrigation to get the plants started. Once started they require little water. Only plants that use little water should be planted in this zone.

LOW WATER ZONE
Plants in this zone take more water than natural rainfall. You could plant them along the edges of driveways or by downspouts to take advantage of the water run off. Or your could design a way for the water to go into you garden. Irrigation may be necessary.

MODERATE WATER ZONE
This zone uses the most water but would still demands less traditional landscapes. This zone is kept small for limited water use. Moderate water zone is best located near entry ways or areas of high use.
